Christmas in April?

Last I knew, Christmas in April was a US-based poverty alleviation charity. But in Mysore, it seems to be an under-the-radar festival. I was humming along to Little Drummer Boy and Deck the Halls at the mega-mart last night, and all the Western comics in the newspaper (Blondie, Bettle Bailey, Garfield) are featuring Christmas themes. This bizarre time-warping is contributing ever more to my feeling of being lost in time & space.
