Sock it to 'em

Just before leaving, I BART-ed over to San Francisco to pick up some of the knee-high men's dress socks that are welcome gifts in Bhutan. Conveniently, Nordstrom has an entrance in the BART station. Even more conveniently, its Anniversary Sale was in progress and the socks were 30% off. When I proceeded to the cashier with nearly a dozen pairs of socks, the associate was a bit surprised.
“Stocking up, eh?”
